Project PiCorder

This page will explain how to hack a Raspberry Pi into a Telenet AD1000 case for use with Kodi/XBMC
There's a short demo vid at the end of the page.

The backpanel is custom made with a laser-cutter from FabLab Leuven and here is the vector image (made with Inkscape)

Setting up the pi

Install Xbian on your Pi : http://www.xbian.org/

Include following modules in /etc/modules.conf:

lirc_dev
lirc_rpi gpio_in_pin=18

Remove spi-bcm2708 from blacklist

# cat /etc/modprobe.d/xbian.conf
#blacklist spi-bcm2708

Configure LIRC
Make sure to remove "-u" and add "-r -a" from/to LIRCD_ARGS in /etc/lirc/hardware/lirc_rpi.conf
Install BCM2835 driver : http://www.airspayce.com/mikem/bcm2835/index.html
Install Pseudo AD1000 Front Panel driver from https://github.com/glorang/ad1000
cp /usr/local/share/kodi/system/Lircmap.xml ~xbian/.kodi/userdata/

Add AD1000 as alias in ~xbian/.kodi/userdata/Lircmap.xml
